Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend wavy Buff and Azure, on the first a cornucopia, on the second a broken classic column Argent. Attached below the shield is a Blue scroll inscribed "SUPPLY MOBILITY SERVICE" in Silver.

Symbolism
The colors buff and blue, for the Quartermaster Corps, refer to the predecessor organization. The cornucopia, a symbol of abundance, represents the supply function of the battalion as a supply and transport unit. The classic column denotes the organization's World War II campaign honors in North Africa and Italy.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 1st Quartermaster Battalion on 26 March 1953. It was redesignated for the 501st Supply and Transport Battalion on 13 March 1962. The insignia was redesignated with symbolism and description amended for the 501st Support Battalion on 31 July 1987.

The coat of arms was originally approved for the 1st Quartermaster Battalion on 26 March 1953. It was redesignated for the 501st Supply and Transport Battalion on 13 March 1962. It was again redesignated for the 501st Support Battalion with symbolism amended on 31 July 1987. The coat of arms was amended to add a crest on 1 May 1990.
